Champions League T20 2012 live: Qualifiers continue as Auckland,Yorkshire eye two wins
Champions League T20 qualifiers move into the second round as Yorkshire and Auckland look to score two consecutive victories. In the first matches of the Champions League T20 qualifiers, Auckland defeated Sialkot Stallions while Yorkshire scraped to manage a win against Uva.
T20 Champions League qualifiers schedule for the group matches begins on October 13 with Titans taking on Perth Scorchers in the opening game of the T20 tournament. The qualifiers schedule back-to-back matches for the teams fighting for a place in the main league matches of the Champions League T20.
Auckland and Yorkshire play today against Hampshire and Trinidad & Tobago in the second day qualifiers of the Champions League T20. Hampshire will make their debut in the T20 Champions League after winning the Friends Life t20 and the CB40 competition. They will have an advantage as Auckland will take the field after their yesterday’s outing; presumably the team would be tired.
Trinidad and Tobago will feature some of the names from the world cup winning West Indies squad. Yorkshire might also face the same problem of weariness due to their first game. Sialkot Stallions failed to prove their worth in Champions League T20 after being awarded the chance to feature in this edition of the tournament.
T20 Champions League qualifiers seem to have setting the stage for what is about to come when the major teams from the WorldT20 clash in the group matches of the tournament.
