Champions League T20 2012 live: Qualifiers to begin today as T20 mania continues
Champions League T20 2012 qualifiers begin on the brink of the victory of West Indies in T20 World Cup 2012. The tournament qualifiers start today in South Africa as the top T20 teams in the world battle it out on the cricket field. Champions League T20 is the assimilation of the teams from South Africa, Australia, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, England and many more countries.
The teams featuring in the Champions League Twenty20 qualifiers are divided into two pools. Pool 1 includes Auckland, Sialkot Stallions, and Hampshire while Pool 2 consists of Uva Next, Yorkshire and Trinidad and Tobago. The top teams from both the pools will qualify for the league matches of Champions League T20, scheduled to begin from October 13.
The opening ceremony of Champions League T20 is marked for October 12 featuring local bands, Flash Republic and Mi Casa, the concert also welcomes the return of international Mash-up Artist, DJ Earworm. Naasei Appiah, Tournament Director, Karbonn Smart Champions League T20 said, “The whole spirit of this competition is the ‘mashing up’ of the best domestic cricket teams from around the world, so we thought what better way to symbolise this, than by having an opening celebration with the best in South African music, with the King of the Mash-up genre.”
Champions league Twenty20 league matches are scheduled to happen between two groups which consists of domestic T20 talent from around the world. Group A features Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders, Perth Scorchers, Titans and Pool 2 winners whereas Group B comprises of Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Highveld Lions, Sydney Sixers and Pool 1 winners.
Champions League T20 2012 is ready to accentuate the entertainment level for the cricket lovers after the Caribbean win in the T20 World Cup.
