England vs South Africa: Richard Halsall replaces Andy Flower for 5th ODI
Richard Halsall has replaced Andy flower as the coach for the 5th ODI between England and South Africa held today at Trent Bridge. Richard will lead training on Tuesday and will be in charge at Trent Bridge on Wednesday.
This might be an important time for both Richard and Flower. Richard would be given an opportunity to lead the team to victory in the 5th and final ODI of the tournament. Whereas for Andy, it would be an important opportunity to resolve his disputes with Kevin Pietersen and spend some quality time with his family.
It seems that Andy has been given the break specially to resolve his issues with Pietersen. If taken the issue in a more pragmatic way rather than emotional way, the burning issues between the two players can come to a conclusion. Time seems to be the basic barrier for Pietersen to resolve his issues with the player, who is currently playing for Surrey against Nots at the Oval.
The situation comes after Managing Director Hugh Morris had convinced Andy to take some time out from his busy work schedule. This relaxed time period would give Andy necessary time to prepare himself for the upcoming challenges of the world T20 and the test tour to India.
Other highlighting news of the event is the return of Jonny Bairstow who will return to playing one days after a short time stint. England are considering him to play at number 3 moving Peiterson a notch down.
