ICC T20 World Cup 2012 live: South Africa begin their world cup campaign today

South Africa, the no.2 ranked country begin their bid for the world cup today against Zimbabwe in a Group C match. Proteas have their sights set on this edition of the cricket world cup and will look to cement their rankings with a win over the last team in the ranking table.

Zimbabwe suffered a mauling at the hands of hosts, Sri Lanka in the opening game of T20 World Cup; they will definitely look to better their performance. AB de villiers will be the man to look out for as he has been in fine form for the second ranked country.

In other live matches of the cricket world cup, Australia defeated Ireland without breaking any sweat as Shane Watson performed with both, bat and ball. Ireland posted a total of 123 and the kangaroos chased the total in 15 overs. Australia have been placed in the bottom three of the international T20 rankings.

The other live match of T20 World Cup observed a gutsy display from Afghanistan against India. The 7 specialist batsmen of India were restricted to 159 by the Afghani bowling attack. Afghanistan gave India the scare when the Asian country was stranded at 79 for 5, but twenty overs proved a long time for the Gulf country to hold their enthusiasm and keenness.

In the last warm up match of the T20 World Cup, defending champions England defeated Pakistan by 15 runs in a low scoring game.
