T20 World Cup 2012 – Super 8 stage begins shortly
T20 World Cup 2012 will move to the first matches of the super 8 stage in the coming two days with no upset entries in the last eight of the world cup. After a dull start, the world cup has been a constant reminder of why this ICC event is the most viewed.
Rain shortened some matches, but not the excitement from the cricket contests as the games provided thrilling finishes. England after suffering a crushing defeat at the hands of the spin talent of India will play the winner of the match between West Indies and Ireland.
England, the defending champion was bundled out at 80 with Harbhajan Singh wreaking havoc through the England batting order. Sri Lanka will play New Zealand in the super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup after losing to the in-form AB de Villiers led South Africa.
Rain cut down the match to a 14-match affair, but the Proteas captain provided the much needed acceleration to guide his team into the super 8 stage. The winner of the match between Pakistan and Bangladesh will meet the Proteas in another match at the world cup super 8 stage of World T20.
Pakistan has won its first match against New Zealand and will look to cement its place in the super 8 stage by defeating Bangladesh, who might spring a surprise. Australia after winning both its initial encounters will see India at the super 8 stage. Australia defeated West Indies in a high scoring game of cricket despite the match result being decided by the Duckworth-Lewis method.
The eight teams will then play each other at least one time in next matches of super 8 stage of the world cup.With the main teams coming to the helm of T20 World Cup the tournament is marked for fireworks and loads of excitement.

There 4 groups A B C D.
From Every group 2 teams coming to super8s.
As A1 A2, B1 B2, C1 C2, D1 D2.
These 8 are divid again into 2 groups as A1 B2 C1 D2 in a group, A2 B1 C2 D1 in other group

india,wi,africa(confirmed) and nz in same group if pak beat bangladesh. if pak loose then ind,wi,africa and pak in same group. i hope u got it nw. if pak wins then oak,aus,sri and eng in 2nd group.

Ankit Shah , Before start of the tournament ICC announced the seedings (Just like Tennis) as per that , India is A2 , AUS B1 , SA C2 , PAK D1 are one group. The matches played during the group stages doesn't have any impact….Its a useless format designed by ICC

its not that way…
the table toppers of all the 4 groups(A, B, C & D) get into one group in the super 8s.
the second team in the groups get into the other to form A1, A2, A3 , A4 & B1, B2, B3 & Before.

exactly…..and i suggest pak shud loose against bang 2mrw with small margin…..i think therez some confusions going on as i have heard that the bottom two teams of our group will play against the top 2 teams of the other group……that is we will be having another chance even if we are at the bottom of our group

This is absolutely crap system this time in World T20 Contest as in Group 1, There are all those teams who lost atleast one match in their intial stage and in Group-2 all teams are those who topped their groups then why they have kept future same for both groups? Why two teams from each group will progress further to semis? This is absolutely ridiculous. Three teams from group-2 and one team from group 1 should be given go ahead for SEMIS. Come on you organizers, wake up!

Got the answer :
The identities of A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D1 and D2 were decided according to seedings and were in place before the group stage began. So India Was A2 and England A1 no matter what position they finished in as long as both qualified. Among other reasons, this helps travelling fans know at which venue their team will play in the Super Eights. Had Afghanistan beat both India and England and qualified first, they would have taken the identity of the team that did not make it from Group A: A2 if India had failed to qualify, and A1 had England been knocked out.
