Theo Walcott is keeping his options open
Arsenal transfer news stories are now heating up the speculations on Theo Walcott’s transfer. The talks about a new contract between the winger and the Gunners bosses have reached an impasse leaving the Walcott faithfuls searching the answer they badly need for one question , Will Theo Walcott stay or go?
The transfer news reports from Arsenal suggest that the winger is keen on keeping his options open for a transfer to an overseas club. Walcott has been resurgent in his ways despite being given minimal chances, which might be the main reason for the indecisiveness of the talks. Theo has also placed the new Arsenal contract(if it happens) as an option if the the two parties can reach an agreement.
Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool are among the premier clubs, which will be looking to sweep the player during the January transfer window. City has already made a bid for the winger during the last August transfer window, but Walcott decided to stay at Arsenal. Even if every speculation falls to dust, Arsenal will still have to reach a decision as Theo’s contract expires this summer.
Arsenal transfer news reports hint that Arsene Wenger has insisted on not selling Theo Walcott even if they don’t retain a mutual decision on a new contract. BBC football gossip column reports that Wenger has agreed for the player to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in January if a new deal is not decided.
In other Arsenal transfer news, the Gunners are looking to go on their merry way of being linked to stoppers. The recent link is Ajax keeper, Kenneth Vermeer. Rodgers seems keen on making a change to the stopping face of Arsenal this January as Dorus de Vries of Wolves and Ali Al-Habsi of Wigan have also been attached to the Gunners.
