Arsenal transfer news: Theo Walcott, Adrian Lopez, Thierry Henry
Arsenal FC transfer news begins with some joy for the Gunners lovers as Theo Walcott is reported to sign a new contract, which means the England international will be deployed as a striker or maybe not. Arsenal FC is speculated to cool their heels in the pursuit of Crystal Palace starlet, Wilfried Zaha, as the young striker was touted to be a replacement for Walcott.
Other Premier League clubs would be rubbing their hands in anticipation for Walcott, but on the brighter side, the Gunners have dropped their interest in Zaha, thus reducing a competitor. Walcott and Arsenal FC administrators have been at loggerheads regarding the signing of a new contract.
Arsenal FC is reported to open formal discussion with Atletico Madrid about the signing of Adrian Lopez, who is priced at £15 million. Arsene Wenger is looking to build the strike-force at the Emirates side as he also glances at out-of-favour Real Madrid FC striker, David Villa. The Gunners are also reported to be interested in Wesley Sneijder. (Oh! and he is costly)
Chelsea FC has also set its sights on the Dutch international, but both the clubs might not make a move towards the player due to his wages. In other Arsenal FC news, fans wanting to see Thierry Henry return to the Gunners for a third stint suffered a setback as Arsene Wenger ruled out a move by the French international.
Wenger, however, has not lost interest in the player suggesting there might be some hope later in the season for fans wanting to see Henry in Emirates colours. Wenger said, “I think Thierry goes away somewhere. He is not ready. He has just come back from holiday so at the moment we are not on that case.”
