Arsenal FC Latest Transfer News & Rumours: Walcott hat-trick
The last phrase any Arsenal fan wants to hear after a monumental 7-5 comeback in a League Cup cliff-hanger is ‘mass exodus’ which is exactly what the back pages are rustling up as meat and drink for today’s latest transfer news and rumours features.
First a graceful bow to Theo Walcott for his part in last night’s action, the surplus to requirements wide man chipped in with three of Arsenal’s seven goals last night, his second hat-trick in red and white, which has given him even more room for contract negotiation.
The England international has just nine months remaining on his current deal, a third and final round of talks will take place this week to determine whether Walcott remains an Arsenal player next season and by yesterday’s performance many would agree the club would be foolish not to meet his demands.
The one stipulation aside from wages stopping Walcott from putting pen to paper is his ambition to play as a striker at the Emirates for the foreseeable future, now Wenger must weigh up whether a bump in salary and a change to style of play is worth risking keeping the 23-year-old.
It’s thought that if an agreement is not found by the end of November, Arsene Wenger will sanction the sale of Walcott in the January transfer window rather than wait until summer when he could leave for a big fat zero.
So, which clubs are licking their lips at the prospect of an England international who can net three goals in a game, the list reads like a who’s who of footballing royalty, including Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Juventus.
The prospect of shipping out Walcott to bring in a low-cost alternative that may take years to adjust to life in the Premiership (cough, cough, Chamakh) may be too much for Arsenal fans to bear, but from a business point of view is this the correct move?

Walcott is the man to carry Arsenal on his head. For sure this young man is capable of proving wenger wrong.
Without wasting time please wenger, meet the demands of this fantastic striker.

From a business/profit viewpoint for the owners, best get rid of him, but that does not help the team success. However, this is not about on pitch success, sadly, it's a privately owned business.
