Arsenal transfer news and rumours: David Villa, Julio Cesar, Gus Poyet
Arsenal FC transfer news brings in some cheer for the Gunners’ fans after their loss to Chelsea in the Premier League game as the Emirates side is reportedly planning to make a £10 million move for Barcelona FC striker, David Villa. Wenger is hoping that he can land the player at a reduced price despite the Spanish club insisting that Villa is not for sale.
David Villa, however, has insisted that he wants to leave Camp Nou after not being given ample chances. Wenger is known to hold back till the last moments of the transfer window and might be planning for a move in the last 48 hours. Arsenal FC is keen to sign a striker, but spending £15 million for Villa might be out of question.
Arsenal FC is reportedly keeping tabs on Queens Park Rangers stopper, Julio Cesar. The Emirates side is dealing with some stopping issues as the Gunners are reported to be losing faith in Wojciech Szczesny. Manchester United FC is also looking at the Brazilian goalkeeper for solving their stopping problems as David de Gea has not been performing to his potential.
Gus Poyet, former Chelsea and Tottenham manager has expressed his desire to become Arsenal FC’s next manager. Many could call his desire to be ambitious, but the Gunners’ form off late might spell things differently for Wenger. Voicing his thoughts, Poyet said, “I want to manage at the highest level and would love to manage Chelsea or Arsenal. Why not? Does my Chelsea or Tottenham past mean I cannot be Arsenal manager?”
Arsene Wenger expressed his interest in West Ham United midfielder, Mohamed Diame as he said, “He has a great presence in the games. I’ve seen him in games where he’s had a big impact.” Arsenal FC is playing West ham today in a Premier League encounter.
