Arsenal transfer news and rumours: Alex Song, Bacary Sagna, Stevan Jovetic
Arsenal FC transfer news reports suggest a sensational return of Alex Song to the Gunners as the summer window approaches. Song has been barely noticed at Barcelona FC with receiving very less game time for the Catalans since his arrival last summer to Camp Nou. Song is reportedly keen on making a return to the Emirates side after being mostly neglected in the Spanish side.
Arsene Wenger would be looking for a reduced price for Song and the player’s full commitment to perform. The 25-year-old was voted as the second worst signing of last summer by fans in Spain with Luka Modric topping the list. Arsenal FC might be on its way to sell Bacary Sagna as reports about the increasing rift between Wenger and the right-back continue to grow.
The Gunners boss will apparently try to sell Sagna when the summer transfer window opens for £8-10 million with Paris-Saint Germain being the most likely destination. Sagna had earlier expressed to his team-mates that this could be his last season. Arsenal FC target, Stevan Jovetic has reportedly appeared on the radar of the Sky Blues.
Manchester City FC defensive coach Angelo Gregucci had confirmed that Roberto Mancini is still interested in the Montenegro international. Talking about Jovetic, Gregucci said, “It seems clear to me that not only the City but many clubs like Jovetic, because he is one of the most talented players on the European scene.”
There had been reports about an Arab consortium trying to takeover the North London club with an £1.5 billion bid, however, Arsenal FC chairman, Peter Hill-Wood denied knowledge of any such bid. He said, “I have heard nothing and I don’t think anybody knows anything about it at the club. It all seems a bit of a waste of time.”
