Arsenal transfer news: Isco, Per Mertesacker, Thomas Vermaelen
Arsenal FC transfer news suggest that Arsene Wenger is looking at some major changes in the midfielder and defender line-up of the Gunners. The Emirates side have reportedly made Malaga midfielder, Isco, their top summer priority target. The Spanish international is priced at £30 million and with Wenger receiving a war chest worth £70 million, the signing would not be a problem.
The Gunners will face strong competition for signing Isco according to the emerging reports while Arsenal FC chief scout, Steve Rowley, continues to monitor his exploits on the football field. Malaga entered the last eight of the Champions League defeating Porto 2-0 with Isco opening the scoring for the Spanish side. Isco debuted for the national team against Uruguay last month.
Arsenal defender, Per Mertesacker, is reportedly on the radar of the Wolfsburg as the German side is planning a surprise summer move for the German international. The 28-year old has been criticised by Wenger constantly despite winning back his place in the side this season. Wolfsburg sporting director, Klaus Allofs is keen on a re-union with his former trainee from Werder Bremen.
The lack of silverware might be driving Wenger to make some harsh changes during the summer transfer window in Arsenal FC. Stopper, Wojciech Szczesny might be staring at an exit from the Emirates side as Wenger stated concerns about the goalie’s mental state as he dropping him from the second leg against Bayern Munich.
Arsenal FC captain, Thomas Vermaelen, is reportedly in the same situation, as Wenger is looking to drastically change the Gunners side to recapture their former glory. The Emirates side is rumoured to monitor the progress of Southampton striker Gaston Ramirez, who has impressed Wenger with his skills.
