Arsenal transfer news and rumours: Gunners set to lose another transfer target
Arsenal FC transfer news brings a bad news for the Gunners fans as Juventus is reported to sign the club’s target, Athletic Bilbao striker, Fernando Llorente. The Emirates side has been linked to the player in recent months and could miss out on the value the player could have brought to the struggling side.
Juve is reported to be at an advanced stage of the transfer process of the player, who apparently desires to play in Italy. Arsene Wenger has been criticised for not being aggressive during this transfer window as many targets of the Emirates side have been missed by the Arsenal FC boss.
The pursuit of strikers like Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Demba Ba has not yielded desired results for Arsenal FC. Theo Walcott has given his approval for the framework of the three-and-a-half-year deal and is expected to sign the dotted line next week. The total package amounts to £20 million including the signing bonus.
The new contract does not list any clause pertaining to Theo Walcott’s position on the field, though Arsene Wenger had earlier stated that the England international will play at his favoured position of a striker. Arsenal FC scouts watched West Ham midfielder, Momo Diame against Manchester United last night, thus leading to a feasibility of a transfer.
Queens Park Rangers are also in the hunt for the player, who holds high regard in the eyes of Chelsea FC interim manger, Rafa Benitez. With Arsene Wenger promising to spend big for the transfers, the Gunners fans could see some new faces at the Emirates stadium.
