Arsene Wenger

Will Arsene wrap up big name signings this week?

Arsenal fans will be hoping today’s trio of transfer speculation will put an end to goalless Saturday afternoons, the club is believed to stepping up interest in Real Madrid playmaker Nuri Sahin, Rennes holding midfielder Yann M’Villa and Atletic Bilbao’s front man Fernando Llorente.

Reported in the Telegraph and similar journals Nuri Sahin has snubbed Liverpool and made a verbal agreement with Arsene Wenger to join Arsenal on loan this season.

Wenger will rotate his midfield engine to accommodate Sahin for the Stoke City game on Sunday, following a deal that could go public today.

Second on Wenger wish list is 22-year-old midfielder Yann M’Villa, which now may pick up speed since Alex Song has seemingly played his last game for the Gunners.

Rennes have already agreed to take on Aston Villa defensive midfielder Jean Makoun, who will guard the back five, meaning M’Vila will be allowed to move on to a bigger club.

Arsenal’s £15m bid is likely to be accepted, although several sources claim Tottenham have also made serious enquires about the French international, but the promise of Champions League football may give Wenger the upper hand.

Back in Spain, Fernando Llorente was left out of Athletic Bilbao’s squad at the weekend due to suspicious circumstances, intensifying speculation over the striker’s future.

La Gazzetta dello Sport is earmarking Juventus as the possible destination for Llorente, who have made an improved bid of €18m, which may be enough to tempt the Spanish side to sell.

Spanish newspaper Marca favour Arsenal as the club to land Llorente and will try to match Juventus’ offer this week.

You better sign atleast two good players if not three. I don't see anything special in this current team. time to reach into that piggy bank and start spending some money otherwise IT IS another year without anything good. just sell, sell, sell. sell…

Wenger is a good coach.. but now he is in a series crisis. When song moves the defence is not good..m’villa is a good choice… on the exit of RVP it is a challenge to both podolsky and giroud….to replace a world class player… for that they need time…. giroud is in good form last year… but now they need a class striker like hentry… benzema..higuain… villa etc but most of them are playing for other club….
