Arsenal latest transfer rumours, team news roundup

It’s been a frustrating week for Arsenal fans, what with an average Norwich side raining on Wenger’s parade shortly followed by Shalke’s 24-hour invasion, leaving fans stunned as to what’s going wrong at the Emirates, the transfer talk doesn’t offer reassurance either…

Several sources are all over the Arsene Wenger Fernando Llorente pseudo-relationship today, in the red corner Caught Offside is giving the deal the thumbs up, in the other red corner the Mirror’s football column has disqualifying such reports.

Knowing that Caught Offside rarely go with an exclusive it’s highly unlikely they have substantial evidence upon which to base this theory, Llorente is available for free come summer if he does not renew his contract, but the story ends there.

The Mirror on the other hand claims Arsene Wenger is being bullied in the transfer market by Juventus, which is where Fernando Llorente will be heading at the end of the season, and the bad news doesn’t stop there…

The Old Lady wants a piece of Theo Walcott too, now surplus to requirements at Arsenal when fully fit, the move is being backed by Juventus coach Antonio Conte after hearing that contract negotiations at the Emirates had stalled.

Arsenal chiefs will need a PR miracle to come out smelling of roses if currents stars leave and replacements are not brought in, yet Wenger remains upbeat about the wellbeing of the squad.

In an AGM yesterday, the Frenchman commented: “I believe this team can deliver and I am optimistic we will have a good season and the players will show I am right.”

“It is still important that we keep our strength and stay united for the good of Arsenal.”
