Arsene Wenger hit out at the press for publishing false stories

Ahead of the Arsenal vs Bayern Munich Champions League encounter, Arsene Wenger displayed a rare instance of anger as he questioned the reporters present about their involvement in spreading the news about his new contract. The Arsenal FC boss refused to talk about his side’s loss Blackburn Rovers, which resulted in the elimination of the Gunners from the FA Cup.

The Sun reported that Arsene Wenger was on the brink of receiving an offer from the administration about his extension of the contract, which ends next summer. Wenger, who is usually calm at his press conferences seemed agitated and stated that he was being accused of taking things easily in the Gunners’ match against the Rovers.

One of his interview intercepts stated Wenger saying, “I’m angry because when you give wrong information like that. There’s not only wrong information behind that. See what I mean?.” Wenger stated that the intention of the false news story about his extension of the contract at the Emirates side was manipulative.

Arsenal FC are set to meet Bayern Munich in the Champions League round of 16. The German side has been leading the table in Bundesliga league and are expected to bring the powerhouse to the Emirates stadium. Asking his teammates to go all out in the game, midfielder Mikel Arteta said, “The last few big games we missed the first 20-25 minutes and the gave the opposition probably too much respect. We want to face a different scenario with Bayern and get into the game show that we want to win it.”

With Arsenal FC out of the FA cup, a win against Bayern Munich could earn them some redemption in the eyes of the Gunners’ fans. Which colour are you wearing?
