Chelsea FC latest transfer news: Roberto Di Matteo sacked
Roman Abramovich has set the cat amongst the pigeons this morning by calling time on Roberto Di Matteo’s career as Chelsea FC manager, as reported in a press release by the club.
This decision will come as a shock to many Chelsea fans, who after hanging on the every word of football rumour columns hoping for transfer news that a striker would be brought in, now must face the realisation that their manager was the next name out of the door.
A statement was released this morning by CFC confirming the departure of Di Matteo culminated from a recent string of poor results, as agreed by the owner and the board, with news of his replacement to follow shortly.
“The team’s recent performances and results have not been good enough and the owner and the Board felt that a change was necessary now to keep the club moving in the right direction as we head into a vitally important part of the season,” the statement clarified.
Di Matteo is the seventh Chelsea manager to have left the club in 10 years, making the notion of a long-term investment in a manager a laughing stock and more traditional of continental clubs, which see no disambiguation in switching head coaches midseason.
The statement went on to say: The owner and the Board would like to thank Roberto for all he has done for the club since taking over in March. Roberto helped guide us to an historic Champions League victory and a seventh FA Cup. We will never forget the huge contribution he has made to this club’s history and he will always be welcome at Stamford Bridge.
Perhaps the most devastating blow by Abramovich is delivered in the last line of the statement which concludes by saying: The club will be making an announcement shortly regarding a new first team manager.

Di mateo is not to be blamed for the loss to juventus at all his role is lyk that of a teacher who dispense knowledge to student bt he nvr do the exams, exam is not done by the teacher bt by the student and if a student fails you need not to blame the teacher at all…Di mateo you are great no matter the sacking I admired your coaching skill despite being an arsenal#i think credit or distinction should be given where its due, Abromivich sucks and the entire chelsea Board.

even at the initialstage after the departure of AVM it is obvious the vacant space is not for Di matteo bcs he isnot matured enough(experiance) tohandle the callibre of players at his disposal, to me is a welcomw idea and right thinking toward success to chelsea as a club.

Roberto Di Matteo gabbled he should have forgot about the owner and continued with the pattern that won him the champions league all he need was to go very strong replacement for Drogba there was Hulk Cavanni and Falcao any of those two with Remires, Mata, Hazard and Oscar tell me who will beat that team easily as we saw yesternite.

Hey guys.. What’s done is done.. If at all a new coach is appointed then what will b chances of an eufa cup miracle that still does nt lie in chelsea’s hands.. I think PEP should suit chelsea more than Rafael benitez, considered his coaching stinct wit Barca…
