Chelsea transfer news: Pep Guardiola to replace Rafa Benitez soon?

Pep Guardiola to Chelsea FC?

Roman Abramovich is set to offer Pep Guardiola an £18 million-a-year deal

Rafa Benitez’s stay at Chelsea FC might be under the sword as transfer news reports suggest that the interim manager might be out of Stamford Bridge as Roman Abramovich steps up his efforts to lure Pep Guardiola. Angry Chelsea FC fans would be happy with this transfer news as Rafa is widely disregarded among the Blues fans. The defeat against Swansea witnessed the Blues supporters demanding for Jose Mourinho.

Fernando Torres was also widely criticised for his performance against Swansea as he failed to score leading to the frustration of the fans. Rafa Benitez has hinted that Real Madrid FC would be targeting the current interim manager of Chelsea FC.(High Hopes Rafa!) With Roman Abramovich looking to offer a lucrative offer to Pep Guardiola, Benitez might be packed to go.

Abramovich is reported to offer the former Barcelona coach an £18 million-a-year deal to lure him to the struggling Blues. Chelsea FC would not be the only premier league club, which has Guardiola on its radar after he announced his intentions to return to the football field after his break.

Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Manchester City are also in the hunt for the coach. Abramovich is reported to offer Guardiola £54 million over three years, which will make him the highest paid manager in English football, if he accepts the offer. Sir Alex Ferguson is currently the highest-paid manager with a salary of £7.6 million-a-year.

A source was quoted saying, “Roman still wants Pep. He is the No 1 choice and Chelsea will make him another big offer.” Chelsea FC fans would be hoping that Pep accepts the offer, so that the Blues can retain their former glory and then build some more.

Why pay Pep so much when you can get the coach who beat him during his last campaign for a fraction of the cost! (Jose Mourinho)
