Chelsea overshadow Tottenham to close in on £20 million Oscar
Chelsea FC have outbid Tottenham to close in on Internacional star Oscar with a £20 million summer move and have held advanced negotiations.
Chelsea have overshadowed Tottenham with their financial prowess to bring in the Brazilian starlet to Stamford Bridge this summer. The Blues are in negotiations with the mid-fielder's club with a £20 million bid over Spurs' last week offer of £15 million.
The 20-year old Brazilian mid-fielder is regarded as the hottest talent in South America and Chelsea believes he is the next star for European football.
A source said, “Spurs simply couldn't and wouldn't compete with the numbers Chelsea are talking – in terms of transfer fee and wages. Spurs really wanted him and thought their partnership with Internacional would help, but Chelsea are getting a star of the future.”
The starlet is aware of the Tottenham offer but insists he is concentrating on his club who are fifth in the table. Oscar said, “Tottenham contacted my agent, but now I'm focusing on Inter. I don't know what might happen, I'm not thinking of it right now. Inter has an important project to win Brasileirao, everybody's focused on that. I want to return to the team and keep playing.”
Chelsea have already brought in Eden Hazard who is dangerously 'hazardous' on the field with his strikingly brilliant football techniques. Chelsea have also managed to convince Oscar as per certain reports. It would be interesting to see Oscar join Hazard in the Robert Di Matteo's squad.
