Chelsea-0 Vs Swansea-2: Benitez finds positive, fans demand for Mourinho

Fernando Torres booed

Fernando Torres was booed by a section of fans in Chelsea’s defeat against Swansea

The result of the Chelsea Vs Swansea Capital One Cup semi-final first leg match has even sent the staunch Blues fans into shock as the Stamford Bridge side lost yet another game after a string of some wins. The blame game started immediately after the match as many people criticised the match referee, Branislav Ivanovic for Chelsea FC’s defeat.

It might be the way Swansea achieved the win over Chelsea, which has angered the fans of Chelsea FC, which has already been knocked out of the Championship League. The 2-0 defeat sent the fans into frenzy as they demanded Jose Mourinho instead of Rafa Benitez, who was blamed to be slow on his feet in making changes.

The interim manager of Chelsea FC managed to find the positive in the defeat as he addressed the media at the post-match conference. Benitez said, “The important thing for me was the team was doing really well. The team was attacking and creating chances. We made two mistakes and conceded two goals. It’s something in football that can happen. If we play this game ten times, we will win nine of them.”

The statement of Benitez might have not pacified the angry fans as they are looking for changes, which help the side win matches and titles. Fernando Torres was also the subject of the frustration of a section of fans as they booed him when he was substituted. Torres was replaced by Demba Ba, whose performance might have given the fans some solace.

A fan remarked, “I’d be happy if I never saw or heard of Torres again.” With Chelsea FC’s Capital One Cup hopes hanging by a thread, Roman Abramovich needs to make some changes that will catapult the side to its former glory or else the anger of the fans might grow to a greater level.

    Dear Rafa Benitez,
You should forget about sentiment and achieve success. Introduction of Torres in the line up was never for football reasons but mere sentiment. This actually drags the team backwards. Chelsea as a team is incomplete without a deadly striker. Now that they have signed Ba, he should be used as he had shown the difference in the attack line up with only two games played.Torres is finished and can never replicate the same feature as when in Liver pool. I don't want to accuse you so much but if there is any reason why you are playing Torres, its simply because he is from Spain like you pure and simple. That's the only reasonable truth, otherwise you don't start a completely out of form striker ahead of in form one only a stupid coach like you can do that in the name of playing your compatriot (useless Torres).
You are now warned to hands off Torres for sake of Team progress.
