Chelsea FC transfer news hint to the nearing end of an uninspiring stay of Fernando Torres at Stamford Bridge. Torres has witnessed one of the worst slumps of his career as he has scored only 28 goals during his stay with the Blues. Recent reports suggest that Roman Abramovich might be looking to wash his hands-off the Spanish striker during the approaching summer transfer window.
The idea of selling Fernando Torres is not new to Chelsea FC fans and some might suggest a more early departure for the striker, who has been struggling to score while wearing the Blues jersey. Torres was bought by Abramovich for £50 million from Liverpool FC and his move has not produced expected results.
Torres has not fired under four managers, who managed Chelsea FC, suggesting that the player has lost his touch, despite being a renowned striker. It is reported that an offer around £15 million could appease Abramovich to put an end to Torres’ stay at Stamford Bridge. With Demba Ba arriving at Stamford Bridge and Romelu Lukaku rumoured to return, Torres might be on his way out.
Considering his current form, there might not be many takers for the Spanish striker, who is reported to prefer a move back to Atletico Madrid, a move which will help Abramovich in his cause to land Falcao during the summer transfer window. Russian side, Anzhi Makhachkala, are reportedly interested in signing Torres at the end of the season.
Fernando Torres has definitely seen better days, but the important question is, will he be able to bounce back from this slump? The Blues are looking for major changes this summer due to their lack of winning performances this season and Torres might feature in those changes. Do you think Abramovich will sell Torres during the summer transfer window?
