Chelsea transfer news and rumours: Jose Mourinho, Marco Reus, Ezequiel Garay
The frequency of Chelsea FC transfer news reports might have increased after the Blues’ loss against Steaua Bucharest. Roman Abramovich’s search for a new coach has not been hidden from the fans and with Chelsea FC losing most of its matches, they are losing patience. Jose Mourinho has been backed by the bookies as a replacement for Rafa Benitez.
Steve Clarke, Mourinho’s former colleague, has said that Jose Mourinho might manage Manchester United FC after Sir Alex Ferguson retires. Chelsea FC have been trying to lure the Real Madrid FC manager to Stamford Bridge to revive the position of the title holders. Amidst the transfer rumours, former Chelsea FC manager, Avram Grant, has stated that managing the Blues is easy.
Talking about managing Chelsea FC, Grant said, “Coaching at Chelsea is very easy. It’s way easier than coaching West Ham, for instance, because you have a very big budget and top players to choose from. All you have to do is go after the win.” The Stamford Bridge side is looking to make a move for Borussia Dortmund winger, Marco Reus.
Abramovich has reportedly sanctioned a £35 million bid for the 23-year-old and with Torres likely to leave at the end of the season, Reus could provide the fire power the Blues desperately need. Mario Gomez has been linked to the Blues as a possible replacement for the out-of-form Fernando Torres.
Chelsea FC are reportedly looking to challenge Manchester United FC for the signing of Benfica centre-half, Ezequiel Garay. The Blues might be planning for a replacement of John Terry, who is nearing his retirement or David Luiz, who is on the radar of the Catalans.
