Chelsea transfer news: Roman Abramovich begins search for new manager

Avram Grant to Chelsea FC

Avram Grant has emerged as a short-term replacement for Rafa Benitez

Chelsea transfer news reports are heating up after the emotional outburst of Rafa Benitez lambasting Blues’ fans and administration. Reports suggest that Chelsea FC owner, Roman Abramovich might fire Benitez within 48 hours and look for the Spaniard’s replacement. Rafa has already confirmed that he will be leaving at the end of this season.

Avram Grant has been reportedly considered as a short-term replacement with Abramovich apparently looking to end the tenure of Benitez at Stamford Bridge prematurely. Grant has been present at most of Chelsea’s recent fixtures and is reportedly interested in filling the void. Grant has spent the majority of his career coaching and managing in Israel.

If the long-term replacements are to be considered, one name which has been strongly linked to Stamford Bridge is Jose Mourinho.
The Real Madrid coach has been consistent linked to the Blues for a summer transfer move, though former manager of the Spanish side, Ramon Calderon, believes that Mourinho might join Paris Saint-Germain.

Talking about the transfer of Mourinho, Calderon said, “Real Madrid have a problem with Jose Mourinho’s attitude. We are not used to a coach who complains about referees, UEFA and injuries. It’s something I don’t like. We are used to talking about what’s happening on the field.” After the rant of Benitez, Chelsea FC will need someone to better the club from their quickly falling status.

Chelsea FC defeated Middlesbrough 2-0 in a FA cup encounter and are set to meet formidable Manchester United FC on March 10. They play West Brom in a league encounter on Saturday. Abramovich needs to find a manager, which will revive Chelsea’s chances of winning a title. Do you think Avram Grant is the right manager?

Avram is a great interim choice! He is a great tactician and has the respect of the players…..and had the european cup in the bag till John Terry lost it……..did great things with struggling Portsmouth and brought Portsmouth to Wemberly to face Chelsea in the final………cant argue with that…….

Sorry to write my opinion , Chelsea defense completely out, Chelsea defense they even cannot match MC FORWARDS, HOWEVER great players time comes must give way for the players who are young talented capable.time comes for replacement J Terry, Lambert, Cole, and also Branislov ivanovic defense not up to date, Chelsea need a manager who take firm decision as a manager not the players make decision.
