Chelsea transfer news: Fernando Torres, Yossi Benayoun, Romelu Lukaku
Chelsea FC transfer news reports the possible happening of an imminent transfer, the exit of Fernando Torres from the Blues. Recent transfer news reports suggest that the Stamford Bridge side might be looking to exchange the misfiring striker with Russian side, Anzhi Makhachkala for Ivorian international, Lacina Traore during the summer transfer window.
Torres scored the decisive goal against Steaua Bucharest in a 3-1 win, which helped the Blues to reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League. The striker, who signed for £50 million was reportedly offered at a diminished fee of £15 million, but failed to attract the attention of football clubs. The 28-year-old seems to be facing the worst slump of his career.
On the other hand, Traore has been living up to his new title, ‘the new Didier Drogba’ with 9 goals in 17 appearances. The Ivorian striker is the top-scorer for the Russian side this season. Chelsea midfielder, Yossi Benayoun has appeared on the radar of West Ham as manager Sam Allardyce stated that Benayoun was among the targets for the summer transfer window.
Benayoun has been called onto the field by Benitez two times, which might suggest that the Israel international could end the association with the Stamford Bridge side. Chelsea FC striker, Romelu Lukaku will be heading back to Stamford Bridge according to West Brom boss, Steve Clarke. The 19-year-old was on loan with the Baggies and is reportedly keen on spending another season with them.
Talking about the imminent return of Lukaku to the Blues, Clarke said, “He is Chelsea’s player. He belongs to Chelsea and he will go back there in the summer. I have never thought it would be possible Chelsea would let him come back next season. He came on a season-long loan and we’re grateful we got him.”
