Fans want more singings to come this season

Roberto Di Matteo is a man on a mission, putting all cards on the table and pushing for two last additions to an already swollen squad, now he looks close to singing Marseille right-back Cesar Azpilicueta and Wigan attacker Victor Moses before the transfer window closes.

The longing for Azpilicueta has been apparent even since the days of AVB, but now that Chelsea has shipped out Jose Bosingwa to QPR, there is room to accommodate the young full back on the right, allowing Branislav Ivanovic to shift centre.

“Everyone thinks it’s been a tough time for me with my thoughts spilt between Marseille and Chelsea,” said Azpilicueta.

“If my departure can help Marseille’s finances, then it is a good deal for everyone concerned.

Second on Matteo’s list is the tricky wide man Victor Moses, who made several Chelsea defenders look static in last weekend’s clash, putting in a performance that will only see his value rise.

Wigan boss Martinez has so far been coy over negotiations: “We haven’t had an offer that matches his valuation so we haven’t had to make a decision.

“Victor knows that if (a club) doesn’t want a player enough, it’s not a good move. I’m delighted Victor’s here, I’m delighted he showed he’s desperate to perform for our team.”

In other news, former Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran is now playing the field at Middlesbrough, having turned down an opportunity to remain in the Premier League in favour of first-team football.

McEachran, 19, one of the most highly-rated young midfielders in the English game, made the switch to Teeside on a season long loan this week.

Mikel breaks up play his job is never going to be spectacular, remember Makelele? Josh's main skill is his passing not his tackling.
