Nigel Adkins came under fire for leaving out main striker Ricky Lambert from the starting line-up, when the going got tough for Southampton he through Lambert into the mix and was immediately rewarded with the striker’s effort hitting the back of the net.

Jason Puncheon, an unlikely goal source, capitalised on Chelsea’s lack of zest and smashed home a Luke Shaw cross to end the game a stalemate.
