John Terry and Rafa Benitez were reportedly involved in a bust-up before the training session of the Blues’ at Cobham complex ground. The argument between the Chelsea FC captain and the interim manager surprised the staff and the players. The bust-up is reported to be related to the Stamford Bridge side’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City.
John Terry missed the City game while Lampard missed a penalty and with the pressure growing on Benitez with every match, things seem tense at Stamford Bridge. Rafa is reportedly not happy with the senior players and asked questions about the intensity of the players, which led to the argument before the training session. If this fight is considered, the frustration is growing in the squad and also among the fans.
Some reports suggest that one of the players asked Benitez to monitor his own shortcomings as it was the same team, which won the Champions League, under the leadership of Robert di Matteo. Chelsea FC are currently placed at the fourth position and with their current form, they might be facing a challenge to stay at that position too.
Terry had earlier stated that there were no problems between him and Benitez, but the current reports hint at a different story. A witness was reported saying, “It all kicked off between John Terry and Benitez as their frustrations over Sunday boiled over into a big bust-up.”
With Arsenal FC just two points behind, Chelsea FC need to get their act together before they are knocked out of the top four of the Premier League table. The Blues take on Middlesbrough for a FA Cup fifth-round clash on Wednesday hoping to restore confidence and carry it to the league matches.
