First a bitter but expected blow for Arsenal, midfield sick note Abou Diaby is back in the physio room after just a handful of games this season, but don’t fret, a replacement in the shape of Marouane Fellaini may come to the rescue, claims Metro.
France international Diaby has been plagued with a string of injuries since his arrival at Arsenal many years ago, now boss Arsene Wenger may have to seriously consider looking for backup if the midfielder’s future remains shakey.
Then who better to fill the overwhelming midfield general role than Belgium international Marouane Fellaini, who has been the driving force behind Everton’s forceful start to the season.
In a recent interview with a newspaper from his native country he commented: ‘I’m just starting my fifth season at Everton, this will be one of my last.
‘I have seen everything. In January or at the end of the season I will turn to another club or championship.’
Fellaini, who cost £15million from Standard Liege in 2008, agreed a new deal last year to keep him at Goodison until 2016.
The players outburst has put Arsenal and Man United on red alert, as both clubs have been tracking the development of the 6ft4in midfielder, and will be leading the charge to put in bids of £20m in the winter transfer window.

Diaby is good but an injury prone player and I believe Jack Wilshere comeback will be a great news to the gunners.
