David Luiz is the transfer speculation topic du jour following recent reports from the main papers, the Daily Mail believes he may well be packing for Manchester after City boss Roberto Mancini tried to accelerate negotiations yesterday.
Having pursued a wild goose chase in their attempts to woo Liverpool’s Daniel Agger to the Etihad Stadium and now being hit with news that defender Micah Richards is out for 10 weeks, Roberto Mancini is scouting for backup and believes Luiz to fill that hole.
The Sun reiterate this story by claiming Man City will pay as much as £30m to land their man, an increase on the deal that brought the 25-year-old Brazilian to Stamford Birdge two years ago.
Suspicion flared up lat night after the defender was left out of Chelsea’s squad for the 4-2 win over Reading, with the player citing a knee injury as the reason on his Twitter account, however The Sun see this as a cover-up to mask on-going transfer negotiations between Chelsea and City.
Twitter is becoming embroiled in Premiership aaffairs even more so in the last 12 months, to good and bad effect, something of which Chelsea boss Di Matteo is fully aware: The player ‘This social media thing is all around us now. We’ll deal with it internally.’
Man City have made signing a centre-back a high priority, given that Kolo Toure is no longer deemed sharp enough for first-team football and Stevan Savic can not be trusted at the back.
Mancini will have to move fast if he wants to find a back-up for currently first-choice pairing of Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott before the window closes this month.

Luiz is a gud player, however £30m is gud officer. Chelsea should let him go and used the fund to sign Cavani. Besides Victor Moses, Hulk and Cesar Azpi should also be added to the squad then Chelsea can win the BPL title this season.

cfc is weak in defense specially right out/ivanovic while other players r selfish and dependent only on themselves, Hazard. oscar and torres are nice.

I tend to disagree abt Ivanovic,yes the backline cn be a bit shaky-but i believe its in the making. midfield has to be the best in epl.
