Liverpool FC football transfer rumour news, Aug 29

Theo Walcott

Will Theo be complaining all the way to Anfield?

Theo Walcott, witnessing the special attention attributed to Robin Van Persie, Alex Song and previous annual castaways, has decided to stall on contract negotiations in order to make one of two things happen; squeeze Arsene Wenger for more money, or move to Liverpool permanently.

For such a humble, mild-mannered player this type of behaviour is deemed out of character, may we remind you that Wenger stood by him when fans were calling for time on the winger’s career, now he has decided he wants to move on, to the delight of Liverpool.

The independent, Daily Mail, BBC News and Telegraph are calling this a done deal having suspected that Walcott was never intent on staying at North London, given that former colleagues have gone on to win trophies elsewhere.

Walcott wants £100,000 a week to match his fellow England internationals but Arsenal’s attitude is that his current £60,000-a-week deal is a fair reflection of his contributions to the team.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is closely monitoring the situation and will jump at the chance to land the £15m rated attacker, which may pave the way for Stuart Downing’s exit at Anfield, a necessary progression that will breathe life into his squad.

In other news midfield terrier Jay Spearing is now a Bolton player as of yesterday, the 23-year-old is set to complete a move to Reebok Stadium this week after the Championship club matched the Merseysiders’ asking price of £3m.

It’s a bleak day for Andy Carroll transfer speculation, it seems that AC Milan have pulled out of a loan move and will pursue Arsenal’s egomaniac Nicklas Bendtner instead.

Yet again it saddens me to say, Liverpool are leaving it to late to complete the squad for the season, this is why we have to spend in January. YNWA J4T96.

Theo fits Brensons style plus he scores and sets up goals. Its a dream Stirling on the left, Walcott on the right wing, wow the front 5 would scare the shit out of the old boys at the back. Terry would end up carried of on a stretcher when we play Chelsea. Please this and the Dempsey deal.

To be fair it has been a disjointed transfer window because of all the summer activities. Brendon is going to implement a model of football that will be very successful and he needs time. theo will be a good addition and I'm really excited about the future.

Don't waste the money, we've wasted too much too date, move on, Theo couldn't do it for the man that stood by him, why would he do it for us! We just need a pacy winger, we missed the best days of SRF and Kuyt will be missed (Benitez really changed his game but he came good), who next on the limited funds we have?

Keep Carrol, forget the initial cost we'll lose more if we get rid and we need as may forwards as possible. We may need a Heskey'esk kind of player and he may learn to stand up, eventually. Get rid of Dowling, didn't fit in, overpriced and between him and Henders, more experience and should have settled sooner.

Sturridge could work out, who knows but still to be impressed, sitting on the fence on that one. If the price is right, grand, otherwise just move on.
