Liverpool FC Latest Transfer News & Rumours: £15 million Sturridge
Liverpool transfer news brings in some good striking flavour for all the Reds fans as Brendan Rodgers has amped up his search for a much-needed second striker. Andy Carroll’s transfer move to West Ham has not helped Liverpool as the striking department still lacks an able support to Luis Suarez. Rodgers is looking to seal the void as he hunts for strikers for the January transfer window.
Liverpool transfer news suggests that the Anfield side is in talks with Chelsea FC over a possible move of Daniel Sturridge. The striker has made his intentions of moving out of Stamford Bridge crystal clear as he refused to sign a new contract with the Blues. Chelsea FC are also looking to ship off Sturridge as they might be looking to raise funds for their high profile bid for Atletico Madrid starlet, Radamel Falco.
Sturridge has been placed at a £15 million price tag by the Blues, which might not be a problem for the Reds as Liverpool owners have bolstered the financial balances and relayed their support for Rodger’s purchase decisions. Rodgers is hoping to field a three-prong attack as the Reds are inquiring about former Barcelona player, Jeffren.
Jeffren, currently with Sporting Lisbon is reportedly pursued by the Reds for a loan transfer with an option to purchase at a later date. Liverpool was left lurching in the striking department after summer signing, Fabio Borini broke his foot in the early part of last month stranding Suarez as the lone striker.
Though Jeffren has scored only once in seven appearances, we know that fortunes change (Van Persie! tongue-in-cheek). Jeffren is also reported to be the preferred target of Rodgers among the possible list of recruits.
