Liverpool FC latest football news, transfer rumours
The Liverpool FC curse continues for Brendan Rodgers who after being presented with a generous war chest for the 2012/13 Premier League campaign, has done little to instil confidence in the board, now he must deal with injuries too.
This week we heard that lively defender Martin Kelly has been side-lined with injury until next year, he will miss both Premiership and domestic cup games, due to a rupturing of a ligament in his right knee.
Fans watched the young Reds star limp out of Sunday’s match against Man United, which finished 2-1 to Alex Ferguson’s outfit.
“Martin Kelly is likely to be out of action for a significant period of time after scans revealed he suffered an ACL rupture of his right knee during the match against Manchester United on Sunday,” read a Liverpool FC statement.
Fabio Borini and Daniel Agger are also in the physio room after minor injuries at the weekend, the pair have a better chance of recovering to full health sooner than teammate Kelly.
These cracks in the squad confirm what Liverpool fans already know – new blood is needed if the side are to challenge for a Europa qualifying spot, transfers must be done by January if the Reds are to wriggle out of the bottom half of the table.
Brendan Rodgers will surely be monitoring the situation at Fulham, where the Scandinavian defensive powerhouse Brede Hangeland is stalling over contract negotiations.
If Hangerland does not agree to sign a long term deal at Craven Cottage, Rodgers may be able to get him in on the cheap as soon as January.

Rubbish article BR was given a fraction of what Kenny had last season and there are plenty of both senior and youth players to cover Kelly's position. Challenge for a Europa spot, jog on this is Liverpool FC we target the champions league. We may have had a shocking start but we will do well this season.

Liverpool have been known to start poorly but always pick up in the middle. Its been like this for the past few seasons now. Its just a matter of time where they will pick up. I believe in LFC
