Liverpool FC latest team news & transfer rumours, 06/02
The January transfer window gave Brendan Rodgers an opportunity to silence critics by bringing in hotshot Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea; now the Anfield head honcho is considering bidding for Newcastle’s attacking Frenchman Ben Arfa to take his side one step closer to glory.
It has been suggested by several revered sources including the Guardian, that Hatem Ben Arfa will become a Liverpool player by the end of the season, as part of a transfer switch that will see Andy Carroll reunite with his former club in the north.
Life at St. James’s Park has been packed with peaks and troughs for Ben Arfa, who despite turning on stellar performances and winning over the home crowd, has also endured more than his fair share of time in the physio room.
Regardless of his dogged tracked record Brendan Rodgers is said to be of the opinion that he can get the best out of Ben Arfa, whilst offloading flop singing Andy Caroll in the opposite direction come May.
The 25-year-old has a contract at Newcastle to the summer of 2015 and would be held to a sizeable ransom by boss Pardew, however rumours suggest he is already preparing for the player’s departure by singing five new additions to the squad last month.
If the transfer deal were to come to fruition it would mean West Ham will lose Andy Caroll after just one season, should they fail to act first and put in a bid to keep the former Newcastle man in London on a long term deal.
Do you think Liverpool are right to make Ben Arfa their next transfer target or do believe the player is better off staying at Newcastle and repaying the club for their patience?
