Liverpool transfer news and rumours: Philippe Coutinho, Pepe Reina, Butland
Liverpool FC transfer news hint towards the never-say-die spirit of Brendan Rodgers as the Reds’ boss is still keen on signing Philippe Coutinho and is reported to increase the offer to £8 million. However, the Anfield side will not make a £10 million bid, which has been the asking price of Inter Milan.
Brendan Rodgers has intimated that the addition of the 20-year-old could boost his squad and with Daniel Sturridge already showing his skills, Liverpool FC could be a potential title holder. The report which might be giving Rodgers hope is that Coutinho was reported to tell his fellow Brazilian Lucas Leiva, that he was interested in making a move to Anfield.
Manchester United FC is looking to offer the Reds £15 million for the transfer of stopper Pepe Reina as they are speculated to offload David de Gea. Though, Barcelona FC is touted to re-sign the goalkeeper, Daily Star reports that the Red Devils have offered their terms to Liverpool FC administration.
With Pepe Reina speculated to move out of Anfield, the Reds are reported to look for his replacement. Liverpool FC is reported to make a £5 million bid with French club, Ajaccio for Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa. Birmingham’s Jack Butland has also emerged as a potential recruit for the Anfield side.
Some transfer news reports suggest that Liverpool FC has not yet made a bid for Ochoa and the news reports are mere rumours. The Mexican player’s agent said, “Many clubs are interested in Memo, and they have been watching him, but we are still at the stage of rumours.” Arsenal FC and Manchester United FC were also linked with the stopper in the past.
