Liverpool transfer news: Xabi Alonso, Lazar Markovic, Martin Skrtel
Liverpool FC transfer news suggest that the Reds are planning a coup for former Anfield hero, Xabi Alonso after receiving word of the midfielder’s intentions of not signing a new contract. The Spanish international has reportedly voiced his intent of leaving Real Madrid and refused to sign another contract to stay at Bernabeu.
Alonso has just over one year left in his contract, which means that the Spanish side will look to transfer him before he becomes a free agent, possibly during the summer transfer window. Xabi is widely revered at Anfield and despite his signing going against Rodger’s youth transfer policy, the Kop could make an exception for the midfielder.
The Reds have been linked with Partizan Belgrade youngster, Lazar Markovic, who is reportedly recovering from an injury in England. Liverpool FC has to move quickly if they hold the aspiration to acquire the 19-year-old as speculations hint that the forward might be moving to Chelsea FC. Manchester City and Inter Milan are rumoured to be interested in the Serbian international.
Liverpool FC defender, Martin Skrtel, might be on his way to the exit door from the Anfield side as emerging reports link the Slovak footballer with a move to Arsenal FC. The Gunners are reportedly looking to find a replacement for captain Thomas Vermaelen, who is apparently drawing interest from Barcelona.
The Reds can breathe a sigh of relief as their summer target, Barcelona forward, Alexis Sanchez as his agent stated that Sanchez was not in talks with Inter Milan about a possible transfer. The Chilean footballer had been strongly linked to a return to Italy, but his agent negated the reports.
