Liverpool transfer news and rumours: Pepe Reina, Philippe Coutinho, Ochoa
Liverpool FC transfer news hint a surprise in store for the Reds as Manchester United FC is reported to make a move for Pepe Reina. The Anfield stopper has been linked to Barcelona FC as the Spanish side is looking to find a replacement for Victor Valdes. Man U is also looking for stopping supplies as Sir Alex seems to be dissatisfied by David de Gea.
Pepe Reina’s father expressed that Reina would be happy to return to Barcelona FC, a move which could cause discomfort to the Liverpool FC fans. He said, “I am absolutely convinced Pepe would be more than delighted to return to his Barcelona, where they made him into an upstanding man from the time he arrived at the age of 12 until he left.”
Liverpool FC is also reported to make a £5 million bid with French club, Ajaccio for Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa. The Anfield side suffered a blow when their target, Philippe Coutinho expressed his desire to stay at Inter Milan. The Reds were asked by Inter Milan to increase their £8 million bid for the attacking midfielder.
Stating his intentions, Coutinho said, “I don’t feel that I’m on my way out. I hope to stay at Inter. I feel the coach and the club trust me. Now I’m focused only on doing my best in my job and getting back on the field soon.” Liverpool FC were reported to be considering Coutinho a priority for the transfer window rather than Wesley Sneijder, who joined Galatasaray.
Anfield legend, Jamie Carragher hinted uncertainty in his thoughts about staying at Liverpool FC after his current contract expired. The defender has stated his intent of playing more matches, which might be a problem, as Brendan Rodgers has provided only two appearances till now for the veteran.
