Liverpool transfer news: Daniel Agger, Ashley Williams, Aly Cissokho

Liverpool FC transfer news reports are buzzing with the interest of Barcelona FC in Anfield defender, Daniel Agger. Reports suggest that the Danish footballer has topped the list of Camp Nou prospects for the summer transfer window. The Catalans would be looking for a replacement of Carles Puyol and the captain of the Denmark national team might be the right choice.

Brendan Rodgers might be in favour of the move as the manager of the Anfield side is apparently looking to re-build the defence of the Reds. Rodgers has reportedly identified his top prospects for the summer transfer window, Swansea City’s Ashley Williams, Feyenoord’s Stefan de Vrij and Valencia left-back Aly Cissokho.

After leading Swansea to the Capital One Cup victory, Williams has become the target of many premier clubs. Arsenal FC has also been linked to the captain of the Wales national team. Brendan Rodgers might face a stiff competition from Arsene Wenger, who has expressed his admiration for the player. At a price tag of £8 million, Williams might not be hard to acquire if he wants to leave Swansea.

Liverpool FC target, Aly Cissokho has expressed his satisfaction on being linked with the Reds, but also stated that he is a Manchester United fan. Cissokho said, “It is satisfying to be linked with Liverpool. It’s a big club and not everyone gets the chance to wear their shirt. But it’s still just a newspaper story. When I was little, I was a Manchester United fan and a David Beckham fan.”

Martin Skrtel and Sebastian Coates could be moving towards an exit from the Anfield side according to rising speculations while Liverpool FC legend, Jamie Carragher is set to retire from the game this summer.
