Liverpool transfer news: Pepe Reina, Daniel Carr, Sofiane Feghouli
Liverpool FC transfer news suggest that the Gunners are eyeing Kop stopper, Pepe Reina as an alternative to Victor Valdes. Wenger is reported to target Reina if the signing of Valdes fails to reach its desired end. Reina has been the mainstay of the Merseyside since 2005, but was the subject of transfer speculations during the winter transfer window.
Brendan Rodgers is reportedly considering whether or not to offer Dulwich Hamlet youngster, Daniel Carr a contract as the summer transfer window approaches. The 18-year-old appeared for Liverpool FC’s Under-21 side’s clash against West Ham United on Monday. Rodgers is apparently assessing the progress of the player, who has scored 23 goals in 23 matches for his team.
Chelsea FC were also pursuing the youngster, who was once on the radar of Reading. The Reds have reportedly stepped up their interest in Valencia’s defensive midfielder, Sofiane Feghouli. The Anfield side has been heavily linked with the Algerian player since a long time and the Reds have apparently placed a £9 million bid for a summer transfer.
Valencia has been struggling financially and would like to capitalise on Liverpool FC’s interest in the midfielder by hiking the transfer fee to £13 million, but the Kop seem adamant on their price. Paris Saint-Germain have also expressed their interest in the player for a summer transfer and £13 million would not be problem for the French side.
Fiorentina striker, Mounir El Hamdaoui has expressed his appreciation about being linked to a transfer move to Liverpool FC, but he stated that it was just paper talk. The Moroccan international said, “Liverpool are a great club and to play there in a legendary stadium like Anfield would be fantastic and a dream. But I am at Fiorentina and I’m happy.”
