Liverpool transfer news and rumours: Kenny Dalglish, Jack Butland
Liverpool FC transfer news hints that the Reds are offering Kenny Dalglish another chance to make an impact at the Anfield side as the club ambassador. Kenny left the manager’s office at Liverpool FC last summer after an 18-month spell, despite the administration wanting him to stay. The Reds are reported to consider his presence to be beneficial, especially in the commercial areas.
When asked about a return to Anfield last summer, Dalglish said, “I said when first approached about coming back as manager that I would always be of help if I can at any time and that offer remains the same.” Kenny has only attended one match since being replaced by Brendan Rodgers as the manager of the side.
Brendan Rodgers has advised his scouts to show more interest in finding local players for this transfer window after admitting to the fact that they had missed most of the emerging talent. The Anfield side has been playing with a single striker for a long time as Luis Suarez bears the striking force for the Reds.
In a message to the scouts Rodgers said, “My big thing is getting young players in here from the local area,Boys from Liverpool. If you look at the history here: the Carragher, the Gerrard, the McManaman, the Fowler, the Owen. And you name me the best two players in England in the last six or seven years? Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney, and they are Scousers.”
Liverpool FC target, Jack Butland has relayed a clear message to the teams pursuing him that he will not leave Birmingham City as a substitute. The 19-year-old is keen to move to the Reds, which means that Pepe Reina might have to leave, if Rodgers is keen on signing the stopper.
