Liverpool transfer news: David Villa, Nuri Sahin, Edinson Cavani
With Daniel Sturridge completing the transfer move to Liverpool FC, news reports suggest that Brendan Rodgers is looking at other prospects. The Reds inquired about David Villa (though he is not doing much of the scoring now) and were turned down.
The Spanish club declined to process the inquiry as Liverpool FC wanted the striker on loan, rather than a permanent move. Tottenham Hotspurs might pick up where the Reds left in the case of the out-of-favour striker. Borussia Dortmund FC is reported to dig deep for the release of Nuri Sahin.
The Turkish midfielder has been warming the bench at Anfield since four months. Dortmund is reported to discuss a transfer move with the 24-year-old’s parent club, Real Madrid FC as they plan to snatch the player during this month’s transfer window.
Liverpool FC might be out of the race for procuring Napoli striker, Edinson Cavani, due to the £51 million buy-out clause as the player’s agent stated that the striker would go to the team, which could afford to fulfill the terms of the clause. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain seem to be the only ones which fall in that criterion.
Liverpool FC boss, Brendan Rodgers has told his latest recruit, Sturridge, that this is probably his last chance if he wants to keep playing at this level and be hungry for more success. Steven Gerrard echoed thoughts in the same direction as he said that Liverpool FC would need him to perform week-in and week-out.
