Manchester United transfer news: Wilfried Zaha, Leo Baptistao, Frank Lampard
Manchester United FC transfer news hints that the Red Devils might be on their way to procure a striker during this transfer window. Wilfried Zaha, the wonder-kid from Crystal Palace is set to train at Old Trafford under the tutelage of Sir Alex Ferguson, but the training might not begin till summer as reports indicate that he would be on loan to Palace till summers sets in.
The striker is among the hottest properties of this transfer window, but Man U is pursuing the striker with no opposition as other clubs have dropped anchor on their chase for the player. Arsenal FC and Tottenham Hotspurs were also in the race for signing the England international, but moved out of the chase. (maybe with a fear of a bidding war with Sir Alex!)
Wilfried Zaha is reported to be on the brink of signing a £12 million contract. Manchester United FC boss, Sir Alex Ferguson sent his brother Martin to Spain to monitor the skills of Rayo Vallecano striker, Leo Baptistao. The scouting mission occurred at Rayo’s 3-1 win over Getafe.
The 20-year-old could be available for £1.6 million, which will be a minimal amount for Manchester United FC. Sir Alex is reportedly looking to raid Chelsea FC’s camp for the Blues rejects, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole in this summer. Both the players could add experience to the Old Trafford side and with the retirement speculations of Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs they could be value additions.
Lampard and Cole are not short of lucrative offers from non-premier league clubs as they plan their next move. With Cole yet to sign a one-year deal with Chelsea FC, he could still be snatched by Manchester United FC.
