Manchester United transfer news and rumours: Baines, Lewandowski, Garay
Manchester United FC transfer news suggest that the Red Devils might be in for a £20 million move of Everton full-back, Leighton Baines. The Old Trafford side has been linked to the player for some time now and might be looking for a summer transfer move. Sir Alex Ferguson wanted to sign the player earlier, but backed out due to the £15 million price of the player.
The increase in the price of the player might yet again turn out to be the deterrent in the transfer process. Ferguson is looking for a replacement of Patrice Evra, who is reportedly the target of the French club, Paris Saint-Germain. Some reports suggest that Baines is looking to leave Everton, if the club does not finish in the top four.
Bayern Munich has denied the rumours of signing a deal with Manchester United FC target, Robert Lewandowski. The Borussia Dortmund striker has been linked with a move to the Old Trafford side for a long time. Bayern president, Uli Hoeness quashed any speculations about striking a deal with Lewandowski after former Bayern legend Lothar Mattheus claimed a deal had been struck.
Negating the rumours, Hoeness said, “If Lothar confirms this, then soon he will be the general manager at Bayern. Matthaus has become active again in recent months. It was always with women – but now he’s suddenly discussing new players at Bayern.” Robert had earlier stated that he won’t be extending his contract at his present club.
Manchester United FC has sent scouts to watch Benfica defender, Ezequiel Garay again as Sir Alex looks to replace Rio Ferdinand. Garay could be headed to the Red Devils during the summer transfer window as his contract is set to expire this summer.
