Manchester United transfer news: Gareth Bale, Douglas Costa, Wayne Rooney
Manchester United FC transfer news brings in high ambitions of the Red Devils as they try to make a move for the man with a Midas-touch, Gareth Bale. The Old Trafford side was however, surprised by the price of the midfielder as Spurs valued him at £70 million. Man U has been among transfer news reports for looking to ship-off at least one striker from their current crop.
Gareth Bale has raised several brows and garnered the attention of many clubs across the world after his recent string of performances. The Spurs midfielder was even compared to the likes of Messi and Ronaldo, which seems unfair, as the Welsh footballer still has a long way to go to reach that pedestal. Real Madrid has also been reportedly tracking the progress of Bale.
A £70 million bid for the player means that either the Spurs don’t want to sell him or the North London club is trying to capitalise on the midfielder’s form. Bale is reportedly looking to sign a £150,000 a-week contract with Spurs, which would make him the club’s highest paid players.
Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder, Douglas Costa has re-emerged on the radar of the Old Trafford side for a possible summer transfer move. The 22-year old was earlier linked to Manchester United FC when he moved to Shakthar Donetsk from Gremio in January 2009. The Brazilian’s < a href="http://www.sportsbulletin.co.uk/football/manchester-united-transfer-news-speculation/04179/" target="_blank">move to United was shelved over doubts on the permission of a work permit.
A Spanish media avenue has stated that both Barcelona and Real Madrid are not interested in signing Wayne Rooney during the summer transfer window as they have doubts about how the striker would fit in the side. In addition to the compatibility concerns the Spanish sides think that the English forward is not for sale.
