Manchester United v Real Madrid: Is Cristiano Ronaldo major threat to Manchester United?

Cristiano Ronaldo will get great reception at Old Trafford but will that stop him from playing his usual game?
Cristiano Ronaldo is taking away all the media attention as Manchester United prepares for Real Madrid encounter in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday. Where experts say that Cristiano Ronaldo can be a major threat to Man U, Manchester United defender Patrick Evra believes that Cristiano Ronaldo’s love for the Red Devils can complicate his return to Old Trafford.
Former Manchester United star will return to Old Trafford on Tuesday after leaving Sir Alex Ferguson’s side in 2009. Patrick Evra, however, admitted that Cristiano is very competitive and will not let his emotions come in the game. Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to the Old Trafford for Manchester United v Real Madrid also sparked rumours of his chances of making a return to Manchester United this summer. However, Sir Alex Ferguson has dampened these speculation saying, “I don’t think there’s anything, as far as I’m aware, that would encourage me to think he would come back here. I don’t think there’s anything in that at all.”
As football fans are busy making predictions for the Old Trafford clash, Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick acknowledges the match as ‘special’ and wants to ‘live it’. “It is extra special. There is just something in the air. Everyone comes to the stadium with a spring in their step. Every supporter is that little bit more vocal. They appreciate how important it is and what it means to get through”, said Carrick.
On one side where Man U midfielder wants to live the night, Real Madrid’s Mesut Ozil is confident that his team will win as the team has all what it takes to reach the Champions League quarter-finals. “It’s going to be a difficult match against a really good squad, but we already showed what we’re capable of in the first leg. We were clearly better in the first half, with loads of chances,” Ozil told Die Welt.
Going by the past figures, United have managed only two clean sheets in their last 10 home Champions League games. Also, Real Madrid won 3-2 back in April 2000 against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Champions League, becoming are one of two Spanish teams to have beaten Manchester United at home. We will have to wait till tomorrow to see what happens when Manchester United and Real Madrid encounter at Old Trafford, but the clash is surely going to nail-biting.
