Match previews, Betting odds: Villa v West Ham, Man Utd v Everton
There are just the two Premiership games this Sunday, both are televised and it adds that bit of excitement if you have money riding on them!
Match preview: Aston Villa v West Ham
The first game, kicking off at 13:30 is between Aston Villa and West Ham. Villa have been the subject of much media attention due to their poor season and their one hundred and two year reign in the top flight is in serious jeopardy with them being in 19th position. Despite their problems this season, their performances have improved recently but they struggle to hold on to their leads; throwing away valuable points in recent games.
West Ham currently lie in 11th place, mainly due to the points they have picked up at home. However, on their travels they have lost eight out of twelve games and have lost their last five. Away from home, their issues are both in defense and in attack. They have conceded a vast amount of goals; twenty two in fact whereas in their twelve games away, they have managed just seven goals. All in all, their strikers goalscoring record is very poor with just seven goals from four of their strikers all season.
Villa are a team in a desperate position. They have started recent games with intent and will be determined to get the three points in this game. West Ham’s recent away record is very poor and not only do they leak goals, they struggle to score them too. Based on the recent set of performances; I would suggest going for Aston Villa to score the first goal at around the 10/11 mark.
Match Preview: Manchester United v Everton
The second game, kicking off at 16:00pm is between Manchester United v Everton. This clash should be an entertaining affair with end to end action. There could be plenty of goals in this one with Manchester United’s games having averaged 3.64 goals this season. In seventeen of Manchester United’s twenty five league games, both teams have been on the score sheet.
Everton have been no strangers to the both teams to score market either. In fact, twenty out of their twenty five league games have seen both teams score. Manchester United have their vulnerabilities in defence and Everton can certainly threaten United with the likes of Baines, Pienaar, Fellaini and Jelavic.
On the other hand, you simply have to expect Manchester United to score at home, especially as they have scored in their last sixty one home league games. I believe that both teams scoring has a very high chance of coming in, in this game. The price is around 4/6.
