Swansea vs Newcastle match preview & betting odds/predictions

Swansea

Swansea fans would be hoping that their team brings the Capital One magic in this match

The town of Swansea will be jubilant after their club won their first major silverware for their first time in their history last week. The 5-0 Capital One cup victory against Bradford last week summarises how far Swansea have come in ten years when they were in fact in danger of falling out of the professional football leagues. Their manager Michael Laudrup has been a revelation since his arrival in August and Swansea can hold their own against the best of sides on their day.

Newcastle were relegation candidates just a few weeks a go. However, their influx of French players has certainly had a positive impact and they are now 13th in league and six points clear of the relegation zone after three wins in their last four games.

For this game their are plenty of markets that look appealing. If you are a fan of the goal scorers markets; successful signing, Michu may be fancied to score first at around 9/2 or anytime at around 6/5. For Newcastle, the obvious choice may be Pappis Cisse who is first to score at around 7/1 and anytime at 2/1.

Many punters maybe swayed to a home win in this game but opposing Newcastle is arguably risky based on their recent form. Swansea have to be fancied to score at home, averaging two goals per game but Newcastle are coming in to this game on the back of scoring four and therefore look good for getting on the score sheet themselves. Newcastle’s last five Premiership games have seen both teams score whereas Swansea’s last six home league games have seen the same. You guessed the selection being recommended for game: both teams to score, paying a round 4/6 with various bookies.
