Hugo Lloris wants to talk it out with Andre Villas-Boas

Transfer rumour mills today are talking about the French international goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who reportedly is worried about his future at White Hart Lane. Lloris raised his doubts about his Tottenham career after manager Andre Villas-Boas last week confirmed that Brad Friedel is his No.1 choice for keeper.

The French keeper, just 10 days after his £12 million move to Spurs, wants to clear the air with Andre Villas-Boas. Lloris, who is currently on France duty, wants to clarify his position in the club when he returns this week.

“Obviously it’s never nice, but we’ll see when we return to work on Wednesday. When I join up with the national team I concentrate uniquely on that and we’ll see about my personal situation as soon as I go back,” Lloris told Daily Mirror.

To add to Lloris’s concern, Brad Friedel proclaimed that the title of Spur’s No.1 suits him perfectly. Friedel’s superb performance in the 1-1 home draw with Norwich confirmed his position in goal in the upcoming match against Reading.

“Right now I believe the shirt is mine to lose, I believe the manager came out and said that. If that’s the case, then great. I will turn up every day and work as hard as I can. I will keep as fit as I possibly can, hopefully get selected to play and hopefully do well,” said the 41-yearold American.

Rubbishing the rumours about growing Lloris and Friedel rivalry, Brad said, “We are all contracted to Tottenham and if they ask me to be a No.1 – or a No.2 – I’d do that to the best of my ability. Hugo is going to be a team-mate, not an enemy. It is a difficult position to have four goalkeepers of our quality at the club.”

Meanwhile, Spurs midfielder Jermaine Jenas is all set to join Leeds United on loan, after being dropped from Andre Villas-Boas’ plans at Spurs. Jenas failed to offload while the transfer window was open, but now Leeds boss Neil Warnock has expressed interest in him, according to reports of the People.
