Manchester United transfer news: Wayne Rooney regrets handing in transfer request
Two days after he signed a five-year contract at Old Trafford with Manchester United, Wayne Rooney, who is currently recovering from injuries, admits his decision to transfer from Manchester United has been a huge mistake.
Rooney wanted to opt for transfer because the club was not catering to his ambitions. The Manchester United striker, who is currently suffering from a deep gash in his leg, is out of the game for approximately two months and four games. A four game lay-off means that he might be available for the Capital One Cup tie against New Castle on September 26th.
“I get frustrated with myself, my game, my injury and everything around me. I’m stuck in a cycle of bad form but I don’t get out of it and that’s when I make the biggest mistake in my football career. In October, I release a statement which publicly questions my happiness at Old Trafford. Am I better off elsewhere?”, the Daily Mirror quoted Wayne Rooney as saying.
Meanwhile, as Manchester united solve their internal issues without their star player, the 143rd ranked Moldova team have a huge chance to win against England with Wayne Rooney out of the Manchester team for two months on account of his leg injury after coming in as a substitute for Manchester United against Fulham a fortnight ago.
The assistant manager of Moldova, Ion Testemitanu understands the fact that they are underdogs when the sides meet at the 10,400 capacity Zimbru Stadium on Friday, but is being realistic with his hopes on account of the exclusion of Rooney along with Andy Carrroll. At the present moment, Moldova are 138 places behind England in terms of ranking.
