David Haye unfazed by Chisora's weight, says 'He is just fat'
David Haye will fight Dereck Chisora on Saturday night at Upton Park in front of boxing spectators and is unfazed by the latter's weight.
The former WBA heavyweight champion believes that his opponent is just fat and is undaunted by his weight. The controversial bout at Las Vegas coincides with another fight between Amir Khan and Danny Garcia for the light-welterweight title on the same night.
Haye weighs 37 pounds lighter than Chisora but believes it's only fat glued to his opponent's body. Haye said, “It happens every time and let me tell you that if you took off all of Chisora's fat he would be lighter than me. He thinks that fat will win him the fight.”
The two boxers have exchanged harsh words at various press conferences. A public brawl between the two at Munich five months ago is regarded as the main reason for organising the grudge match by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation.
Chisora has had a series of convictions for assaulting a police officer, weapons and drug charges. Haye earlier said he is determined to teach Chisora a lesson.
David said, “It gets serious once the shirts come off and we are standing there. That is what I like because it means the fight is on and Dereck was giving me a bit of stick. I love that.”
Though the match is not a title-fight, it has been touted as one of the biggest fights in the history of boxing. Will Haye be successful to teach Chisora a lesson?
