Ryder Cup 2012 schedule: Golf’s big weekend begins today
Ryder Cup 2012 kicks off today at the Medinah Country Club in Illinois with a set of four foursomes. The first Foursomes match will see Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell play against Jim Furyk and Brandt Snedeker at 8:20 am EDT (12:20 pm GMT).
Rory McIlroy, the leader of the 2010 winners Team Europe, enters the 39th edition of the Ryder Cup as the world’s No. 1 player. After his disappointing performance at the FedEx Playoff event last weekend, he will be looking for a bounce back game.
Paired with McIlroy, Graeme McDowell is the strongest link of Team Europe. McDowell has won both singles matches in last two Ryder Cup appearances.
On the US side, Brandt Snedeker is fresh off his Tour Championship and FedExCup win. Joining him is Jim Furyk, 2010 FedEx Cup champion, and 2010 PGA Tour Player of the Year.
Other matchups scheduled on Friday are Luke Donald and Sergio Garcia vs Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley at 8:35 am EDT (12:35 pm GMT), Lee Westwood and Francesco Molinari vs Jason Dufner and Zach Johnson at 8:50 am EDT (12:50 pm GMT) and Ian Poulter and Justin Rose vs. Steve Stricker and Tiger Woods at 9:05 am EDT (13:05 pm GMT).
Four Ball matches will start at 12:05 pm EDT (5:05 pm GMT) with new games starting every 15 minutes. Ryder Cup live streaming can be seen on TSN on all three days from September 28-30.
