US Open 2012 Final: Andy Murray,Novak Djokovic get ready to shoot aces
Andy Murray will go aces against Novak Djokovic, the unseen star of Expendables 2 in the US Open 2012 final. The two tennis stalwarts will fight for the championship at The Flushing Meadows today.
Andy Murray steps into the final after defeating Tomas Berdych, the player who defeated World No.1 Roger Federer, while Djokovic goes to the decider by defeating David Ferrer.
Andy Murray is continuing his Midas touch as he takes the centre stage at the US Open 2012 after winning the gold medal in the London Olympics. Novak Djokovic has not enjoyed much success after the exit at the Wimbledon. Roger Federer deposed Djokovic as the World No.1 player by clinching the Wimbledon Trophy by defeating Andy Murray.
Djokovic won the semi-final after being one set under before the match was disrupted. He requested the chair umpire to postpone the match due to the gutsy winds at The Flushing Meadows.
Andy Murray also produced a master class performance after being one set under. Tennis fans will be disappointed as they expected a Federer-Nadal showdown at the US Open, but Nadal pulled out of the tournament due to injury scares.
Andy Murray expressed that his rest of one day will add advantage to his chances at the title. When asked about the favourite of the final, Djokovic said, “I don’t think there is any clear favourite. He’s looking for his first title, I’m sure he’s going to be very motivated. I hope we can come up with the best tennis for this crowd.”
Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic have faced each other several other times before. Djokovic leads Murray 8-4. Previous encounters have shown us that the past results don’t matter, the winner will be decided on the Monday’s game.
